Vintage Liberty Silk and Gold 'Orbital' Necklace
|
British born Elizabeth Bloom, the designer behind Dorus Mhor, creates jewelry using
scraps of fabric from England’s famous Linton tweed factory. Her
collection includes earrings, bracelets and necklaces made with beads
covered in bright fabrics and prints, perfect for pairing with the color
block trend.
According to her;"It all began with a bin bag filled with remnants of luxurious
colourful tweeds rescued from the factory floor of Linton Tweeds, a
traditional mill based in my hometown in Cumbria and famous for weaving
the original Chanel tweeds.

I found a method of applying the tweed to base wooden beads, creating
unique tactile gems which I linked using sterling silver and 14ct gold
plated findings. After refining my technique I progressed onto using
vintage printed silks and seasonal cottons lawns from Liberty of London,
crafting beads which almost appear hand-painted."
